In 2016 VSL#3 Pharmaceuticals relocated their manufacturing facility to its original place, back to Italy. This change allowed for VSL#3 production process to convert VSL#3 back in to dairy free probiotic. Corn starch replaced dry milk to grow the bacteria in the beginning stages of the production.  Patients who took VSL#3 for years now concern and have to switch, due to a possible VSL3 corn allergies. However, patients with corn allergies can safely take dairy free version of VSL#3.

 

Possible VSL3 Corn Allergies Symptoms.

  • Hives or a skin rash
  • Nausea, stomach cramps, indigestion, vomiting or diarrhea
  • Stuffy or runny nose
  • Sneezing
  • Headaches
  • Asthma
  • Anaphylaxis (less common), a potentially life-threatening reaction that impairs breathing and can send the body into shock
